City of Rocks

You're about to see a whole lot of photos, mostly of rocks and flowers. Prepared? Okay, lets begin.

On Saturday, this lovely Lumberjack brought me here. The City of Rocks. Basically, just an enormous amount of rock formations, all in the middle of nowhere in the mountains of southern Idaho.

Shall we mention the socks and sandals? They belong to a fella who just doesn't give a darn.

This rock has a face, I'm pretty sure. Look at it, being all snooty. In person, you can see names written by pioneers all along the base. Wikipedia tells me they were written in axel grease.

It's pretty fantastic to imagine pioneers walking along, writing their names, unaware that now, hundreds of years later, people would be visiting the rock just to see.

These are weeds, but I don't care! They were too lovely looking to pass up.

These are the Twin Sisters.

On the way out, the poor Lumberjack had to stop about a million (three or four) times for me to hop out and take photos, because Idaho was positively killing it. Look at this place! Just look!

This little guy was kind enough to hold still for some pictures, before loudly buzzing as far away from me as possible.

Phew! You made it! Believe it or not, there were so many more. Narrowing it down to just those was phenomenally difficult. Okay, maybe not phenomenally, but pretty darn difficult all the same.

This weekend was a weekend for celebrating, and thanks to an excellent friend and some beautiful nature, celebrating is exactly what happened.
